Benefit for Calgary Flood Victims
Put July 10th on your calendars for a special appearance of Fearing & White at the Calgary Flood Benefit show to be held at the River Park Church in Calgary. Vic Close of Fish Creek Concerts is organizing a special night of great music, a stellar silent auction and a community coming together to support those who have lost so much in the great floods of 2013. Fearing & White hold a special place in their hearts for Calgary and Alberta. “Alberta, Calgary and CKUA have been such great supporters of us. We are so happy to give back” says Stephen Fearing. “Both of us will be in Alberta and it was obvious for us to join up and help support this cause” said Andy White. “We’ll be able to perform some songs from our upcoming release as a special treat to our Calgary friends.” Stephen and Andy will be fresh from mixing Tea and Confidences in Los Angeles. The album of 11 new F&W tunes is set for release in early 2014 on LowdenProud Records.
Approaching the Blue Highway
Tim Williams new solo release, Blue Highway, is being mastered now and set to drop on April 4th, 2013 at the Ironwood in Calgary ( call (403)269-5581 to reserve tickets). The disc is a travelogue down the blue highway, “more of a state of mind than a place”. With songs from the Delta, Mexico (yes, there is the blues in Spanish) and shades of Hawaii, the album reflecs Tim’s wide range of influences and highlights his suberb guitar playing. Co-Produced with Russ Broom, one of Canada’s greatest guitar players, this disc will continue to build Tim’s reputation as one of Canada’s great treasures.
Another great review for Between Hurricanes
Stephen Fearing is about to start his Western Canada tour (see for dates). Metro has just posted another great review of his new release, Between Hurricanes, (Link to Metro article). Stephen’s showcases at Folk Alliance International in Toronto created quite a buzz and he’s excited to be sharing his new solo work with his fans on this tour.
