Bernie Finkelstein at Folk Alliance

Bernie Finkelstein, a Godfather to Canadian Music, was the keynote speaker at the Folk Alliance International in Toronto this morning. If you haven’t seen his book, True North, A Life In The Music Business, you should give it a read. Bernie was a founder of the Canadian independent music scene and regaled us with tales of the early days of Yorkville and Greenwich Village. He also mentioned Stephen Fearing as one of Canada’s great guitarists. We agree, of course! In total he dropped Stephen’s name four times. Bursting with pride (proud?) LowdenProud is thankful to have Stephen and his new album, Between Hurricanes, mentioned at lot at this conference of dedicated music makers, promoters and devotees.

Hello world!

Welcome to the updated LowdenProud website!  We’ve just launched in time for the Folk Alliance Conference in Toronto starting February 20th.  We’ll be there to check out one of the hottest “folk music” (whatever that means these days) scenes and support our artists Stephen Fearing and Andy White.  Both are attending the conference and doing showcases both as solo artists and as their powerful duo: Fearing & White.  Stephen has a new solo album out, Between Hurricanes, which is receiving outstanding reviews.  Andy’s new solo effort 21st Century Troubadour has also be receiving critical acclaim.  Best of all, Fearing & White have a new record in the works set for release later this year or early next year.  Stay tuned here for all the details!
